Empire State Building

The Empire State Building is a 102-story landmark Art Deco skyscraper in New York City at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street. Its name is derived base from the nickname for the state of New York, The Empire State. It stood as the world's tallest building for more than forty years, from its completion in 1931 until construction of the World Trade Center's North Tower was completed in 1972. Following the destruction of the World Trade Center in 2001, the Empire State Building once again became the tallest building in New York City and New York State.
9/11 Commission reported that the original plan for the September 11 attacks called for the hijacking of ten planes, one of which was to be crashed into Empire State Building.
The Empire State Building has been named by the American Society of Civil Engineers as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. The building and its street floor interior are designated landmarks of the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission, and confirmed by the New York City Board of Estimate.[4] It was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1986.[3][5][6] In 2007, it was ranked number one on the List of America's Favorite Architecture according to the AIA. Statue of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty (originally called Liberty Enlightening the World (French: la Liberté éclairant le monde)) is a massive sculpture that stands on Liberty Island in New York Harbor. Designed by Frédéric Bartholdi and dedicated on October 28, 1886, the statue was a gift of the people of France. It has become an iconic symbol of freedom and of the United States.
Bartholdi was inspired by French law professor and politician Édouard René de Laboulaye, who commented in 1865 that any monument raised to American independence would properly be a joint project of the French and American nations. However, work on the statue did not commence until the early 1870s. In 1875, Leboulaye proposed that the French would finance the statue and the Americans would provide the pedestal and the site. Bartholdi completed both the head and the torch-bearing arm before the statue was fully designed, and these pieces were exhibited for publicity at international expositions. The statue's arm was displayed in New York's Madison Square Park from 1876 to 1882.
Fundraising proved difficult, especially for the Americans, and by 1885 work on the pedestal was threatened due to lack of funds. However, publisher Joseph Pulitzer of the World initiated a drive for donations to complete the project, and the campaign inspired over 120,000 contributors; most gave less than one dollar. The statue was completed in France and was shipped overseas in crates; it was assembled on the completed pedestal on what was then called Bedloe's Island.
The statue was dedicated on the afternoon of October 28, 1886, in a ceremony presided over by President Grover Cleveland. The statue was administered by the United States Lighthouse Board until 1901 and then by the Department of War; since 1933 it has been operated by the National Park Service. The balcony surrounding the torch was closed to the public in 1916, and the entire statue was closed for renovation in 1938 and from 1984–86. Following the September 11 attacks in 2001 the statue was closed for security reasons; the pedestal was reopened in 2004 and the statue herself in 2009, with limitations on the number of visitors allowed to ascend to the crown

Yankee Stadium
Yankee Stadium is a stadium located in the New York City borough of The Bronx. It serves as the home ballpark for the New York Yankees, replacing the previous Yankee Stadium, built in 1923. Amen, brother. Each of our own states have their respective problems, but Texas is definitely not a bottom-feeder. I'm a transplant from North Carolina and I'll be the first to say that Texas has a lot to be respected. The passion of the people here is to be admired, for one. Not to be confused with the crazy secessionists, you understand, but those that truly love being native to a place with such a rich and important history. I love it here.

That §§ 26-15, 55-59.1, and 55-66.01 of the Code of Virginia are amended and reenacted and13 that the Code of Virginia is amended by adding sections numbered 55-59.5 and 55-59.6 as follows:14 § 26-15. Accounts of sales under deeds of trust, etc.15 Within six months after the date of a sale made under any recorded deed of trust, mortgage or16 assignment for benefit of creditors, otherwise than under a decree, the trustee shall return an account of17 sale to the commissioner of accounts of the court wherein the instrument was first recorded. Promptly18 after recording any trustee’s deed, the trustee shall deliver to the commissioner of accounts a copy of the19 deed. If all assignments of the deed of trust or mortgage have not been duly recorded with the land97 records of the locality in which the property is located, the trustee, or any substitute trustee, may98 proceed with the sale of the property conveyed to him by the deed of trust or mortgage upon (i) the99 recordation of any assignments necessary to trace the interest of the person who asserts that he is the100 holder of the obligation secured by the deed of trust or mortgage to the original grantee or mortgagee101 or, if an intervening assignment cannot be recorded because the assignee no longer exists, the provision102 of an affidavit by the party secured to the trustee, or any substitute trustee, attesting under penalty of103 perjury that the person is the party secured under the deed of trust, and (ii) the payment of all fees,104 taxes, and other costs applicable to the recording of the assignments. The person who asserts that he is105 the holder of the obligation secured by the deed of trust or mortgage is solely responsible for paying all106 fees, taxes, and other costs required in clause (ii).107 C. A nominee of a grantee, mortgagee, or beneficiary for a deed of trust or mortgage has no108 authority to request that the trustee, or any substitute trustee, proceed with any sale of the property and109 the trustee, or any substitute trustee, shall not proceed with any such sale upon the request of the110 nominee. As used in this section, “nominee” means a person who is designated in the deed of trust or111 mortgage, or who is subsequently designated to act on behalf of the grantee, mortgagee, or beneficiary.112 The term “nominee” does not include an agent or other fiduciary.113 § 55-59.6. Foreclosure; civil penalty for fraud; civil action.114 A. Any person who (i) knowingly makes, uses, or causes to be made or used a false or fraudulent115 record, document, or statement or (ii) knowingly swears or affirms falsely to any matter, in support of116 any foreclosure upon property under this chapter shall be liable for a civil penalty of $5,000 for each117 violation.118 B. I see both of their points. It is kind of a thumb in the face to the Christians, and there is an underlying message in most of the Christian information, including the nativity. Thanks for your comments. I have not been doing any workshops, but if you have a big group that wants one, than let me know! If you are just starting out I think it is best to learn from the best. Read books on floral arranging and then start putting together a portfolio. Find any wedding that you can do at first and put 200% of your effort into your first weddings so that you can have a portfolio to build business on. Network with wedding coordinators and others in the industry. Good luck!!

Ok, well if it is a condominium unit. They do have to usually give a weeks notice to the other residents/owners to notify of any constructions, plumbing, etc; because it is a shared living space. You can send a formal complaint to the management company. However, if the work is already in progress, you probably wont be able to alleviate the problem today. But, you might be able to make sure that any future work is properly notified ahead of time. I would also bring this up at an HOA meeting. For now, I would go out, get some food, do some errands, and then come back in the afternoon for a nap.

It is not common, usually the entire apartment complex has a single owner. When they are seperate they are usually called condominiums, in order to better define that they are in a complex with multiple owners.

I am curious. If an LLC owns a condominium unit is their vote legitimate? If their community ID card states Joe Public – Owner and they are not or have not shown proof of their majority stock in the LLC is that fraud? I only ask because an alleged unit owner at a previous condo meeting showed audible frustration, and virtually stormed out of the clubhouse. After doing a search on bcpa.com shows that an LLC owns the unit he occupies plus he has voted(as he claims at above stated meeting) that he “Voted” for a director ……. for a reason…….. Is his vote legitimate for …………….. being that his unit is LLC owned?

Well,i think if you handle this correctly she won't be (or shouldn't be) offended. Yes, i think assigning her as event coordinator is a good idea. My husband has had AD for eleven years. I got him into some testing for Exelon and Namenda at the very beginning, before they were approved by the FDA. I believe that doing so has slowed his progression dramatically. He has been unable to find nouns for several years now, but does well asking When do we eat, Where are we going etc. I have found solutions for most things, but I have not been able to find anything that works for the repetition of this question, “When are we going to go to…..?” He means, “When are we going to Destin, Florida?( to the beach) We always go in October. I tell him we are going in October but, of course, he doesn’t know when that is, but I can pacify him somewhat. However, the next time he may get very angry and he won’t let it rest for an hour or two. Then I get blamed for everything that has happened ie: moving to an independent living community, we never go anywhere, it’s all you’re fault we’re here, I want to get out of here now, when are we leaving etc. etc. until I am ready to scream. I sometimes yell, but I don’t scream! This whole routine can happen three times a day and it can begin when he wakes up or like last night, he sundowned over all of this from 4pm until I finally got him to bed and rubbed his back til he fell asleep at 10 o’clock. Otherwise, he’s a really nice guy, but his frustrations have to be played out.

I think I’ve posted this elsewhere on here, but wedding coordinators can be a lifesaver. Basically, there is almost no way to not be perceived as a bridezilla by someone. You want an inexpensive wedding? Bridezilla. You manicured your nails? Bridezilla. It’s absurd. Women are shunned for having wants and needs, and especially wedding wants and needs. Here’s where having a coordinator comes in. She is a woman, but she is standing up for someone else’s wants and needs, and is therefore doing what women should be doing and is a hero. Here’s a typical conversation I had with my mother-in-law: MIL: I was wondering what flowers you are having at the wedding? Me: I’m having orchids! MIL: Where are you getting them? Me: Trader Joes! So cheap, really nice flowers, and I don’t have to buy into that whole “needs an expensive thing just because it’s a wedding” when all I want is simple orchids. MIL: AAAAAAAGGGGGGG I am now going to harass you every day until you agree to buy a $500 bouquet and I will think you are a bridezilla. How this conversation could have gone: MIL: I was wondering what flowers you are having at the wedding? Me: I’m leaving it up to my coordinator! I’m a low maintenance bride who doesn’t know a thing about weddings and is leaving it up to a professional person with a great resume! [lies, of course, I've simply told the coordinator my wishes and she'll do them] MIL: I don’t think you should leave it up to her. Me: I did, sorry, here’s her number you can discuss it with her.

Hmmm, this post reminds me of one of my fave sites

A house near a lake sounds great, but I kind of fancy a condominium unit in the center of the city more. Maybe when I get older I'd want the country life.
I want my place to have a library….doesn't matter if the bedrooms are cramped as long as I get one big room with ceiling-high shelves and lotsa lotsa books. I also don't want to have to work but instead spend my time doing volunteer stuff. Right now I'm a volunteer teacher for this org that helps poor but deserving students go to college. I want to do more of that. I want to focus on my interests that I simply don't have the time to pursue—drawing, guitar-playing, writing songs, dancing, theater. I always tell my friends I'll do these things when I become a rich man's wife in the future.
For now, fast-paced and hectic as my life may be, I still pause once in a while to notice little awesome things.

When renting.. housing may or may not allow pets..however, they may be willing to work with you, or with those who already have pets before moving in. Some housing will accept or find a solution so you can keep or adopt a pet. NOT all are bendable though. You need to check with your housing rules before going ahead an adopting a pet. Be sure to respect the rules, because keeping a pet in violation of a NO-Pets rule puts your pet and you at risk for eviction and other legal action you and your family don't need. The Humane Society is trying to get strict housing to lighten up on their rules and to be more accepting of pets..however, it may or may not work..best to check into all options first before adopting.

I also think that Greg has a point, how much are we spending to have someone manage what should essientially be booth rental? What new rules and regulations will they come up with? The DDA managed to tick off many who had participated in the market for years and the result was more farmers markets in the area and less selection at the Sara Hardy Farmer's Market. Why does the DDA have the authority to hire anyone to manage the public use of public parkland in the first place? Is this an authority that the City has given them?
